    Department of Delhi Fire Services is the state-owned firefighting and rescue body for the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Established after the amalgamation of two municipal fire stations, DFS initially operated with four stations and 14 appliances. Today, it manages 61 fire stations and responds to over 22,000 fire and rescue calls annually, serving an area of 1,484 sq. km. It provides fire safety certification, emergency response, and public training programs. It continues to modernize its fleet and infrastructure to enhance disaster response and ensure public safety in the rapidly growing urban environment.
